The Project Brief
We were engaged to provide a safe access solution for roof replacement works at the historic Halvorsen Boatshed in Putney.
Located at 20 Waterview Street, this heritage-listed maritime site dates back to 1941–1942, originally constructed to support World War II naval production and later becoming a renowned luxury yacht manufacturer. Now being redeveloped into Putney Wharf Residences, the preservation of this iconic structure was a critical priority.
Due to the heritage status of the building, traditional fixing methods for edge protection were not permitted. With a new roof required to protect and preserve the structure, a carefully considered and compliant safety solution was essential to keep the project progressing.

Multiple anchor points were strategically installed across the roof, providing safe and continuous fall restraint coverage for roofing crews working across a large open area.
Working closely with engineers, we developed a detailed anchor layout design to ensure optimal placement, load management and compliance. This collaborative approach streamlined installation and ensured the system met both safety requirements and the unique constraints of the heritage structure.
