Scope of Work
We were engaged by Reitsma Constructions to install temporary edge protection at Trinity College in Sydney during ongoing construction works. The job required fall protection across two levels of exposed concrete slabs, where safety was critical for both the ground and upper floor teams.
The solution had to be non-intrusive, durable, and compliant with all safety regulations, especially as the site was operating in an educational setting.
Edge Protection System Used
- To ensure a safe working environment, we installed our slab clamp edge protection system, which clamps directly to the concrete slab edge without the need for penetrations. This method provided a secure, adaptable, and non-damaging solution to suit the evolving worksite conditions.
- To increase protection and meet enhanced safety requirements, we add Toe boards to help preventing tools and materials from falling over the slab edge. Additionally on the clients request we added chain wire offering additional fall protection without creating significant wind load. The use of chain wire is particularly beneficial for sites like this, as it delivers added security while minimising wind resistance, making it ideal for use on taller structures and exposed levels.
