This month Edge Protection was asked to provide fall protection on top of 6-meter-high pre-cast concrete slabs. This was to create a safe working area for the form workers to come behind and put the form work in ready for concrete. This is something we haven’t done before and came with its own set of challenges.
Edge Protection System Used
As the form work and concrete was set to come up to the top of the precast slabs, we could not use our parapet clamps. There fore we opted to use the commercial brackets. We then drilled into the outside of the pre casts and then fixed the brackets on the outside. We worked from an EWP and from a scaffold tower to do this.
Benefits of Commercial Bracket System
The benefit of using the commercial bracket is that like all the brackets we offer it has been designed and independently tested to be compliant with AS/NZS 4994.1:2009. This can put the client and duty holders mind at ease knowing they have got a fully safe and compliant system.
