On this project the customer had been let down and needed a quick turnaround. With a fair bit of juggling our team managed to get to site and install within 2 days! However, this is not the norm, we do always try our best to accommodate the customers needs.
We were contacted after this customer had been let down to provide roof edge protection to allow the framers to work safely on the next stage of the build. We were also given the added complicity of needing to come off the roof edge 300mm to allow a soffit and gutter to be installed. We used the commercial bracket in conjunction with the commercial universal adapter to gain the 300mm distance.
Edge Protection System Used
On the job we used the commercial bracket using wood screws as per the recommended manufactures instruction. We also teamed this up with the commercial universal adapter to gain the 300mm distance as previously mentioned. We also used our extensive scaffolding knowledge and added a few braces to help strength the system in a few places and ensure there was no excess movement that could throw any levels out of place.
Benefits of Commercial Bracket System
Some benefits of using the commercial bracket is that it can be easily removed and is not in the way of the framers who are trying to do their job. This systems with the commercial universal adapter means that we could also come off the roof edge allowing for the soffit to be installed. This system gives a clear run of the working area. It’s also rigorously designed and independently tested to be compliant with AS/NZS 4994.1:2009
